Extra Curricular Activities

Following extra curricular facilities are available for students in the college:-

A. National Service Scheme:-

This Central government Scheme is continuously running in the college since 1983. Only students of B.A., B.Sc and B.Com can take part in the activities of this scheme. At present three units of N.S.S. are working. Every unit registered more than 100 students and selects 50 students for 10 days special camp on the merit. Selected students in the scheme do work for enhancement of adult education, AIDS control, plantation, family planning, short- savings, environmental equilibrium etc. Moreover students do camp in several villages and work for repairing/ cleaning roads, sanitation. Students also work for maintaining college campus.

B. Games:- Several games facilities are available in college i.e. hockey, football, basketball, volley-ball, table-tennis, badminton and cricket. Students take part regularly in these activities. Annual games competition is organized every year, the winners of competition are rewarded by medals, certificates and mementos.

C. Rovers Crew & Rangers Crew:- Separate units of Sanjay Gandhi Rovers Crew and Rangers Crew are running in the college, which are registered from Scout and Guide office, Lucknow. Units take part in university /inter-university level meats. Since the establishment participants of the units got higher position in several competitions of meats.

E. Nature club:- The Sanjay Gandhi nature club of this college is affiliated from W.W.F. India , New Delhi Qualified and active students are selected as the members of this club, who contribute for its various environmental programmes.

D. Cultural council:- The cultural activities are very important for the development of students personality. College has a cultural council which motivate, and guide students in various cultural activities Students of the college take part in these activities at different levels and got honorable positions.

National Seminar:-

A National seminar on “YOUTH IN RURAL INDIA: CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS” was successfully organized by the Department of Teacher Education on 23- an - 2011 . The sub theme of the seminar was-

  • Education and Training for Indian rural youth.
  • National Youth policy and rural youths.
  • Youth delinquency in rural India.
  • Changing patterns of culture and rural youths.
  • Social problems of rural youths in India.
  • Globalization and rural youths.
  • Rural youths and their changing convictions.
